This may be a stupid question. I read and saw that Volkswagen made a car that gets 240 mpg. Yea its small and looks funny but hey 240 mpg. Why are we not jumping on making car like this Ok someone can come up with a better looking model but anything 100+ mpg is whats up. Why is this not happening, please explain
And also would that like boost our economy and he like the environment.

guess you haven’t heard of the Chevy Volt, its not a hybrid, its part gas and part electric car, also looks good, not a huge car but not a small compact car either, the news has been out for awhile and GM released the number 230 mpg, rather thats actually right im not sure, just what GM says but the EPA is testing it and is figuring out how to test a part gas part electric car

Why do the auto manu not include the fuel needed to charge the electric cars in their MPG? That has to count.

We use fuel to generate electricty and to send it to the charger so that should be calculated in the MPG since they are using the battery power to rack up the miles. The fuel used to charge the battery should be counted as well.
