Man VS Junk EP 49.2 - HYBRID CAR
This is my Dodge Hybrid. It Gets 35 Mpg on the highway, and doesn't use any gas when warming up the engine on a cold morning, all I have to do is plug it in to 110v due to block heating technology. I thought it would be funny to do a video like this. NOTE: at the end of this video you see a lot of CO2 coming out of my tail pipe, this is called Decarbonizing and it has to be done to fuel injected cars with fewer miles per gallon than my car gets, and more CO2 comes out. If a modern car is not decarbonized once a year, it will get worse emissions than my 1965 Dodge Dart even with a cadalatic converter. The point is it all comes out some time. Your MPG is what determines how much CO2 your putting in the air in the end, even if you don't see it in emissions right away. The naturally aspirated DOHC 1.5-liter inline four cylinder engine produces a modest 100 horsepower (HP) and 98 foot-pounds of torque. We tested an automatic-equipped Mazda2 Touring model. EPA gas mileage estimates are 29 city / 35 highway miles per gallon (MPG) with a 5-speed manual and 27 city / 33 highway MPG with the automatic transmission. The Mazda2 provides advanced front air bags, front side-impact air bags and side-impact air curtains, along with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Traction Control (TCS). Standard features include remote keyless entry, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, and power mirrors. The Limited model has a Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $16435. The Limited model includes a trip computer, alloy wheels, halogen fog lamps, and a rear spoiler. A center armrest and rear bumper guard were the only options on our test car.

The 2012 Porsche Cayman R was one of the most-anticipated cars to ever come through the Roadfly office. The car's stats are simply stunning: 0-60mph in 4.7 sec. 330hp @ 7500rpm, 2855 lb. Even the door handles have been replaced with nylon tabs to reduce weight. The results are predictable. The Cayman R is virtually telepathic, to the point that it nearly bores you. It's so free of vice that you start to feel that it's just like a normal, civilized car, with a tad more immediacy...and you wonder what the big deal is. Only when you go back to your daily driver do you realize how responsive the Cayman actually is. It's a nearly perfect machine. It makes few compromises that interfere with spirited driving, but still manages to be completely docile, tractable, and even practical with its two trunks and stellar reliability. It also gets great fuel mileage, at 19 city and 27 highway when equipped with the 6-speed manual. Ever gone to a movie that didn't blow you away at first, but weeks later you're still thinking about it and can't get it out of your head? That's what my days with the Cayman R left me with. This car is definitely on my 'short list' of cars I want to own before I die. It's slightly expensive with a starting MSRP of $66300, but given how well-built Porsches are in general and how good their resale values are, the price is fair in my opinion. The Pew Clean Energy Program launched a video this week to raise awareness of the benefits of increasing the fuel efficiency—or miles-per-gallon (MPG)—standards for cars and light trucks to as high as 60 MPG by 2025. The Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Transportation (EPA-DOT) are expected to release a proposed joint rule by Sept. 30, 2011, that will elevate fuel efficiency fleet wide to a level between 47 and 62 miles per gallon for cars and light trucks, model years 2017-2025.
